Some Pictures

A pink sky behind the mountain Those mits on my backpack were the best I ever had. When last I parted with them they were Westbound on a Greyhound. Typical Alberta weather. This is the end of January after three weeks of -30° C weather. It was about 15° when I took this picture. A six-hour cruse turns into 9-hours biking into gail-force head winds. The rotten RCMP were shooting me with their radar gun and laughing at me. The start of the foothills West of Calgary.

The sun sets behind Rundle Mountain. Night falls on Canmore. It's a long way down... ...and a long way up. The Spray Lakes reservoir feeds a series of hydro generation plants. All of the plants were designed and built by beavers.

The soft, green, mossy loam. This was taken shortly after a massive opera singer threw himself from the side of the mountain. The outlet of the Spray Lakes is below. Looking down from EEOR The three sisters with Ha-Ling (Chinaman's) and Lawerence Grassi in the foreground. I have been here and here and here...

I have urinated here and here and here... Shadows of clouds flow over the forest far below. Three sisters again. Silhouette of a tree against the sky. Getting toward the Northmost part of Rundle

The sun sets on tunnel mountain. The Alberta Badlands. The forces of erosion have uncovered an ancient interperative walking tour trail. You can see the fossilized remains of a curved-beaked interperative tour display. It almost looks like it still looking for prey. The Last Chance Saloon. It's worth the drive (which is pretty cool itself). Jesus rays on the Banff Town side of Cascade.

Close(r)-up of jesus rays. Three sisters in the clouds. Some bastard left his big chunk of the forest parked in the middle of the road. Look at the massive erostion that trees cause. We need to cut down all of the trees in Alberta to prevent this plight from continuing.

Looking Eastward over Canmore. There are some awesome roads in Alberta. I like this picture. This is the town of Muntz. This is also the town of Muntz.

Muntz at night. My tripod was a rock the size of a large van. It was hard to aim it. More of the Canadian Rockies. A black bear pretending to be a tourist standing on a stone retaining wall. He is waiting for prey in this picture. Later he was approached by someone who wished to know what he was doing. Said person was quickly devoured. The dumbest bird on the planet. The Trans-Canada on its way to Banff

The Trans-Canada coming in to the Canadian Rockies from Calgary. I thought the beeping noise was a problem with my MP3 player. Luckily it was just the engine overheating. I went into town to get a frying pan and a driving wedge, but the delicious birds were gone when I returned. Fence by the Tipi Fencepost Company. A plant (lumber mill?) Somewhere south of Cranbrook.

About 27-odd hours into a 50 hour trip from Calgary to Kapuskasing (the stop-overs don't help with the trip time). The morning greets my bus as it heads out of Winnipeg on the way to Northern Ontario. A lonely farm on the endless plane of the praries. The Middle of Nowhere, Northern Ontario. And the other direction.

Power for a building that was lost in time. Endless, endless Northern Ontario. A family had a farm here once. Into the bog.

Long and straight. The burning sunset. The Woolery.

Back in Southern Ontario just north of Peterborough. A cool mistake. Focus. A cove off of Lake Ontario, Southern Ontario.

Driving in Southern Ontario The snow off of Georgian Bay, just south of Owen Sound. I don't know many people other than myself who go for walks in swamps.

Nice beaver! Look what I found! Who says that alcohol and guns don't mix? I think that the squirrels and/or 'coons have been busy. I've seen worse.

The last person to use this is probably dead now. I think I recognize this from the earlier photos. Very nice. The straps are so that when you pass out you don't fall from the sky like your shotgun and the bottle of wisky you are working on. Back in Muntz

The back of an old building Check out the roof access. The sun starts to set on Muntz. A car passes below Above Banff Town on Sulphur Mountain.

Willow.

Earth. Just outside of Muntz. A silk worm hangs from a tree, hoping to catch a ride. Lots and lots of worms. I was covered with the things by the time the trip was half-over.
